Curriculum: Pearson Realize textbook for both 7th & 8th grade; Ms. Cardona has brought some interesting components to our curriculum, teaching celebrated books such as “A Long Walk to Water” and “Night”. In addition to literature, our middle-schoolers work diligently on vocabulary enrichment, writing, and oral debate skills.
Overview: Our 6th, 7th and 8th graders have been reading many fascinating stories in their Pearson textbook, and they have multiple assessments for each–whether its an essay, group project, or an exam. They have worked on presenting their opinion on popular topics, and have presented their arguments as essay pieces as well as orally at the debate podium. In addition, students work diligently on vocabulary enrichment–they are assessed in many ways to ensure the new words are understood, recognized, and used in the future.
