Any individual who is sent home ill or calls out ill is required to submit Medical clearance signed by a licensed NYS Medical Professional clearly stating the individual can return to school , and either indicate a diagnosis or that the illness was not COVID related.
There are no exceptions to this requirement. (Note, this does NOT automatically mean the student must be tested for COVID19. It is up to the doctor to make that decision.)
For the sake and safety for all, students who were out ill and arrive without medical clearance will not be allowed to return to the classroom. They will sit in the office and the parent will be called.
We also ask for you to continue to email the principal (tmorris@diobrook.org) , use St. Adalbert Remind, or call the office to let us know that your child is absent with the reason. If we have not heard from you by 10 am, someone from the school will contact you.
We understand that taking your child to the doctor can be a major inconvenience, especially for something that appears to be extremely minor, however, the Diocesan policy helps prevent the spread of any illness, period.
